Instructions for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 cases on commercial pleasure craft after the removal of restrictive measures for the COVID-19 pandemic

1.   Purpose

The instructions concern the professional pleasure boats that are located in the Greek Territory and are active within it. The guidelines do not apply to commercial cruise ships entering from abroad, including cruise ships. 

The new coronavirus (COVID-19) infection pandemic is ongoing worldwide with countries in different epidemiological phases. In Greece the epidemic developed without many cases and with few losses. The effort to control the spread continues in all areas of activity, while at the same time the restrictive measures are lifted.

Greece at this stage offers a safe tourist destination and the resumption of marina operation is considered important for the economy. However, it is necessary to implement the measures described in the following instructions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection.

2.   General recommendations

3.   Determining the maximum number of passengers

The maximum number of passengers allowed on commercial pleasure craft is:

(a) in the case of a ship with a capacity of up to twelve (12) passengers no change occurs;

(b) in the case of a ship with a capacity of more than twelve (12) passengers then the capacity of more than twelve (12) passengers at a time is reduced by half and added to that of twelve (12) passengers. In the event that this reduction does not result in an integer, it is rounded to the next.

The above limits are observed throughout the trip as well as during mooring.

Similarly, the above limits are valid until June 15, 2020, when the implementation of the measure and the epidemiological situation will be re-evaluated and possibly revised.

4.   Passenger registration book and health status
