The documentation of the editors of the magazine for the selection of Alonissos is impressive. More specifically, they emphasize the role of the National Marine Park of Alonissos and V. Sporades as the foundation for the sustainability of the destination, which is closely related to unique historical findings, such as the shipwreck of Peristera. In detail and according to the description of the editorial team, "the opening of the first underwater museum in Greece at the shipwreck of Peristera in Alonissos is a unique experience for all scuba divers and is rightly called the 'Parthenon of Shipwrecks. Of particular importance is the fact that the shipwreck of Peristera is located underwater in the impressive natural National Marine Park of Alonissos and Northern Sporades. The park was established in 1992, ensures a protected and untouched environment for an impressive ecosystem, which among other things hosts the Mediterranean seal Monks - Monks! The long-term operation of the Park minimized human intervention, protected the natural wealth of the area and ultimately helped catalyze the preservation of unique underwater archaeological sites such as the shipwreck of Peristera. The shipwreck, which extends to the bottom at a length of 25 meters, is related to a large merchant ship, probably an Athenian, that sank in the 5th century BC. and was loaded with thousands of wine amphorae. Access to the underwater world, however, is not just for diving enthusiasts, but for all visitors,

It is noted that the operation of the first underwater museum in the country in Alonissos, is the result of a joint effort and cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, the Ephorate of Underwater Antiquities, the Region of Thessaly and the Municipality of Alonissos. "This unique international distinction justifies the efforts of the Municipality of Alonissos, which has made the greatest contribution to the dissemination of news worldwide on the operation of the first underwater museum in Greece in our region, which hides many invaluable natural and historical treasures!" The Mayor of Alonissos, Mr. Petros Vafinis, stated about the great distinction. This distinction for Alonissos and all of Greece is expected to "travel" around the world and become known to millions of recipients and selective travelers with special interests,
